For a relevant redundancy date from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027 and an otherwise eligible employee. GB weekly cap £751; Northern Ireland £783. Confirm the relevant end date, which may include statutory notice. Excludes contractual enhancements, notice pay, holiday pay and tax on a combined settlement. Age and service must be measured at the same relevant date.
How much statutory redundancy pay could you receive?
Start with your employment details, rather than the total figure offered in a settlement. This calculator estimates the statutory redundancy element only. Notice pay, unpaid wages, unused holiday and any enhanced contractual package need to be checked separately.
What to enter in the redundancy calculator
Select where the employment rules apply, then enter your age and completed continuous service at the relevant redundancy date. Use the same relevant date for both figures. Ask payroll to confirm it if pay in lieu of notice or an early termination changes the date used for statutory rights.
Enter the gross weekly pay used for redundancy purposes, not your take-home wage. Check the treatment of regular overtime and variable earnings with payroll. The calculator shows the capped weekly figure and how the service years split between age bands, so you can compare the workings with an employer’s statement.
Why Northern Ireland has its own selection
The 2026/27 weekly maximum is different in Northern Ireland. Selecting the correct country matters when earnings exceed the statutory cap. England, Scotland and Wales use the same statutory cap in this tool.
Using a redundancy estimate in your budget
A redundancy payment is a one-off amount. Compare it with essential monthly spending and existing savings to work out how much time it could cover. Include your expected final wages separately and avoid counting a payment twice.
How the redundancy pay calculator uk (2026/27) works
Count back the most recent 20 full service years: 0.5 week for each full year below age 22, 1 week from 22 to 40, and 1.5 weeks from 41. Multiply weighted weeks by capped weekly pay. Fewer than 2 completed years gives no statutory amount in this model.

Statutory redundancy pay: questions answered
Does this calculator include notice pay or holiday pay?
No. It estimates the statutory redundancy payment. Check notice, holiday, wages and enhanced contractual redundancy separately.
Why does it use my age during each service year?
Different statutory multipliers apply to completed service in different age bands. The calculation counts back the latest 20 completed years instead of applying your current age band to every year.
Will I qualify with less than two years of service?
This model returns zero below two completed years. Other contractual payments or employment rights may still apply; it does not decide your employment status or wider eligibility.
